Gizmo Guides started in 2020 with a simple idea: the small things you plug in, clip on or pop into your ears deserve the same careful advice as the phone itself. A good power bank, a stand that doesn’t wobble or earbuds that stay put can change your day more than a new phone ever will.

What we cover

We focus on accessories, not the devices themselves:

  • Power banks and chargers: portable batteries, wall, car, wireless and solar chargers.
  • Earbuds and audio: wireless and wired earbuds, sports and translation earbuds, small speakers.
  • Phone and tablet accessories: stands, holders, mounts, selfie sticks and organisers.

How we write our reviews

Every review starts with an everyday problem, such as a phone dying on a hike or a tablet that is tiring to hold, and then looks at whether a specific accessory actually solves it. We read the full listing, pull out the specs that matter and put them in a short table, and we say plainly what is good and what isn’t.

Prices shown on Gizmo Guides were correct when we last checked them. Merchants change prices often, so the price on the merchant’s own page is the one that counts.

How we make money

When you buy through some of our links, the merchant may pay us a small commission. It never changes the price you pay. Read the affiliate disclosure for the details.

How an accessory makes it onto Gizmo Guides

The same four steps for every product we cover, from a $2 cable clip to a solar power bank.

  1. Start with a real problem

A phone that dies on a hike, cables taking over the desk. If an accessory doesn’t solve something real, we skip it.

  2. Read the whole listing

Specs, sizes and the small print, turned into a short table you can compare at a glance.

  3. Compare price and alternatives

We look at what similar accessories cost, so you know whether a deal is really a deal.

  4. Say what’s good and what isn’t

A plain verdict, catches included, before you click through to the store.

How we make money

Some of our links are affiliate links. If you buy through one, the store may pay us a small commission. You pay the same price, and the commission never decides what we recommend or what we say about it.
